Super Wardrobe!

Beyond Storage
{SOLD}

This super piece needed a little extra loving when it came into my possession which is probably why it has taken me so long to get to it. I am so glad that I took the time to bring this one back to life because I think it looks so adorable now...

Look at all that storage! A total of 5 small drawers and 2 large drawers not to mention the big cabinet area.

The interior shelves are adjustable and can be removed if you would rather throw a rod in there for hanging clothes. There is a spot to insert a 1 inch dowel if you prefer. I love this wall paper and I think it adds a beautiful touch to the back of the cabinet. I also used it to line each drawer.

I used the new Benjamin Moore tintable chalkboard paint in Kendall Charcoal to paint the door to add some fun and extra utility. It works really well and is not as harsh as black would be.

It is lightly distressed with a hand rubbed wax finish. I found 10 matching vintage drawer pulls in white and gold to finish it off.

I can see this in a play room to store dress up clothes and games and art supplies, but I can also imagine it in a girls room to give lots of needed storage. Whatever you do with this Super Wardrobe, it will be a timeless, one of a kind piece.

It measures
61 inches high
17.5 inches deep
36.75 inches wide

If you would like to make this piece part of your home, email me at lisabaron70@gmail.com or text me at 403 700 0877 and we can arrange a time to take a look.

All Dressed Up

4 Piece Bedroom Set
{$380}

This is a 4 piece set (I've included the mirror, bench, vanity desk and dresser) which I have had waiting for a makeover for a while now. It was so pretty, and I wanted to do something special with it. I had to post this picture because you can see Lucy perfectly in the mirror, sitting on top of the couch doing neighbourhood watch.....

One of my most "pinned" on Pinterest items is a dresser I did last year in a coral colour. As coral is super on-trend this year, I thought I would give this pretty set a trendy makeover with coral, navy and bronze.

The vanity desk is really adorable and has such nice deco lines. There is a ton of storage with 4 deep drawers plus the desk top area. The matching bench is the icing on the cake.

The dresser is a great size ~ especially if you want to use this in a young girl's room. It is not too tall, but with 4 drawers, it provides a good amount of storage with easy access.

The wooden knobs have been sprayed using a Benjamin Moore spray bomb in Deep Secret (CSP-625) and the original detail with the bronze lines has been duplicated.

I used a pretty fabric with coral, pinks, yellow and turquoise so it would work well with other colours in your decor.

The coral I used is Benjamin Moore's Coral Spice ~ a slightly more sophisticated coral tone ~ a bit less saturated than some.

This is a very sweet set and priced to go fast. I have it displayed at Airdrie Paint and Decor and it can be viewed or purchased from the friendly staff there.

The sizes are as follows:

DRESSER
26 inches wide
16 inches deep
43 inches high

VANITY
36 inches wide
16 inches deep
30.5 inches high (not including mirror)

Little Vanity Project

This was a little project that I did for a friend a few months ago. I haven't been doing a lot of custom work as I find that I just don't have much time for it, but I was excited to do this for my sweet friend Jamie...

Jamie and her husband had embarked on a HUGE reno project in their house. Basically they transformed their 90's, slightly dated house into a beautiful modern home that really reflects their personalities. As you go through it, there are so many thoughtful touches which make it unique. They could charge admission to see the amazing water feature in one of the kids' rooms just for her pet turtle alone.

Part of the renovation was creating a room just for Jamie. She was using it as her office, dressing room and quiet space. We found this little vanity on kijiji. It had been painted previously, but I decided to jazz it up a little more. Jamie already had a desk in her room that I had painted for her earlier and she really wanted them to feel like they went together. She had also found some really fun fabric to incorporate so I used those as my cues and went from there.

It is so cute and really adds a little extra character to an already very personalized space.

It adds a little extra storage for her jewels and makeup.

This fabric is so pretty! Modern but still whimsical. It also gave me an opportunity to pull out my favourite turquoise for the bench too.

Feminine detailing and curvy legs make it all her own.

 These vanity sets can be a little hard to find second hand, but they are totally worth the effort to transform them into something extra special.

Something Unique....

Super Shabby Message Table
{SOLD}

So the previous table did not last a day at the store, so I thought I would put another one in there to demonstrate some different paint and some distressing. I wanted to try something a little bit fun with this guy.

I am currently working on a sweet little bedroom set in coral ~ one of my favourite colours for spring! I put a layer of that on after my primer and followed it up with that new Vintage Revivals Chalk Paint that I have recently started to use. I really like the way it just peeks through the dark and serious grey... sort of like the spring we have been having in Alberta.

Since Benjamin Moore now has a tintable chalkboard paint, I mixed some of that up for the top.

I love this chalkboard paint too! It is so nice to use and offers a unique way to leave love messages to your family or friends.

A wee little drawer for storage and a little extra pretty.

The coral is very subtle, and I love the way the details are highlighted. These little tables can bring a little whimsy to a neglected corner. I finished it off with a coat of wax for extra protection and a smooth touch (not the chalkboard top).

This table is available for purchase at Airdrie Paint and Decor located at 102 - 191 Edwards Way SW.

Feel free to go in and take a look!

This table measures
23.5 inches high
24 inches in diameter

Blog Break

Fresh Start
{SOLD}

I have taken a ridiculous amount of time off from attending to this blog! I have still been working and selling, but just quiet here on-line, although I usually post a few things that I have in the works on my facebook page for hour25.

To kick things off for spring, I am excited to try something new for me. As many of you know, I also work part time at Airdrie Paint and Decor, the local Benjamin Moore store. It recently changed ownership and the new owners have decided to start to offer more products for the furniture makeover types like me! I have been trying some of them out and as I do, some of the smaller pieces will be available for sale at the store.

My very first piece is a sweet little side table that I made over using a new line of Alberta made chalk paint. The best part of this paint is that it can be tinted to ANY colour. I was anxious to try it out!

It has been painted a dark grey and distressed and then buffed with a new wax I am trying. I love the extra storage on the lower level and a bonus drawer too!

As always, I have a weak spot for making the inside pretty too!

There are some lovely details on this piece that the light distressing really highlights. It also has a glass piece which inserts over the caning on the top of the table.

It is very unique and yet has a sophisticated feel to it, due to the dark colour I think.

If you would like to take a look, please head down to the store at 102 - 191 Edwards Way SW in Airdrie.

It offered at $80 and measures

21.75 inches high
21 inches wide
26 inches deep

As always, I love feedback! Let me know if you have any comments or questions....

November!

I know that I have been very very VERY delinquent on my posts lately... I appreciate your patience as I am finding a work/life/family balance.

I continue to paint and upcycle furniture and I am so lucky to have so many great clients and places to sell it. Sometimes it doesn't make it to the blog though.

I have taken on a part time job, which I enjoy as it involves paint and colour and people ~ all important things to me, but I am working towards getting a better routine as I figure out my time management.

I will be doing a sale in person in Olds on November 17 with several other vendors who do fantastic things with the ugly stuff out there. Stay tuned for more details coming up!

Thanks for your patience and I will continue to work to add some fun to your space!

New Listings!

Distressed White Sideboard
{sold}

I have had this piece waiting for some attention for a long time and I don't know why I waited so long to do something with it. It was a great find ~ I really love the unique sliding glass doors on the upper area. They are super thick and really add to the charm of this cabinet.

It has been primed and painted Cloud White then lightly distressed. The hardware is a flat black and the back area of the open storage is lined with a little peek of fun wallpaper. Each drawer has been lined to match.

I apologize for the ugly surroundings. It is VERY heavy and I don't have any help today to get it moved! I hope that you can see how charming this is even though it is sitting in my basement...

It measures:

45.5 inches wide
17.75 inches deep
34 inches high

Child's Desk and Chair
{sold}

This desk is just SO sweet. It is sized for a child, but it is not toddler sized ~ sort of 3/4 sized. It is the perfect size for small projects like colouring and drawing, but would transition well into a vanity area too.

It has been primed and painted Summer Lime. It is a very pale green. It has been moderately distressed with extra attention to the corners and detailed edges. There are 3 drawers for storage which have been lined with my last few bits of the zebra print wallpaper.

The hardware is a flat white and is lightly distressed as well.

The little ladder back chair fits perfectly with this desk. It has been painted Cloud White and has also been distressed.

I can imagine this cute pair in a little girl's room. It would add just a perfect amount of sweetness to almost any colour palette, but is sophisticated enough to grow up along with her.

The desk measures:

34 inches wide
18 inches deep
29.75 high

Tall Shabby Table
{sold}

This is one of those tables that seems really simple, but once you own it, you can keep it forever. It is tall enough to use for a very small desk or hair/makeup station with a chair, but it is also the perfect size to tuck into a corner or small stretch of wall and use for seasonal display or a place to drop keys and mail.

It has been primed and painted Cloud White and lightly distressed and hand rubbed with a furniture paste for a little extra protection and a smooth touch.

It measures:

23.75 inches wide
15 inches deep
30.25 inches high.

If any of these pieces are calling your name, the best way to let me know is by text ~ 403.700.0877 or by email to lisabaron70@gmail.com. All items are sold on a first come, first served basis with cash pick up in Airdrie. I am happy to hold an item for a reasonable amount of time if you know that you really want it!
