{Shabby Sofa Table}
*SOLD*
Wow! The last 2 items have been snapped up in no time! Thanks so much to the hardy souls who have been willing to make the effort to go out in all this snow and ice. My intention has also been to spend some time buffing up the look of this page, and get to know how to add a few more features, but it will have to wait for now....
Today I have this beautiful sofa table that I picked up about a month ago. I felt this was a big score ~ even the clerk at the store had her eye on it. So here is how it looked when I brought it home:
It was in pretty rough shape, but with a little lovin', it has been transformed into something so pretty:
The painting above it was done by a very talented artist here in Alberta ~ Valerie Thomas Speer. I can't get to her website for some reason, but I will try to get it later. I just love this painting! [The link to more of her beautiful work is here]
I primed and painted the table a white cotton using latex paint. I distressed the edges and curves and gave the whole piece a serious rub down with a layer of wax. The wax gives it a beautiful finish and feels so smooth. The bonus with this is that for years to come, the lustre can be easily restored with a little polishing.
It is a very manageable size, measuring
45"L x 32"H x 13 1/4"D.
